Marcel Otten

Marcel Otten is an advisor to executives in health care, based in Amsterdam. He focuses on payor-provider collaboration, (strategic) transformation programs and restructuring at healthcare clients.

Marcel supports hospitals and other healthcare institutions (mental healthcare, elderly care, GPs, youthcare, etc) and payors in realizing higher quality care for lower costs.

His work includes:

• Providers: strategy assignments, operating model design, quality improvement and cost reduction programs
• Providers (in financial distress): strategic, operational and financial restructuring projects
• Payors (contracting): strategy, contract innovation, payor-provider collaboration
• Payor-provider collaborations: broad transformation programs (contract innovation, financial, quality, cost, operating model, change and leadership)
• Policymakers: Policy development and evaluations

Marcel joined the firm in 2008 after finishing his MSc in Biology at the University of Groningen. He also obtained an MBA from INSEAD.
