David Trunkfield

David Trunkfield is an advisor to executives and investors in the travel, hospitality and leisure sector for Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consulting business. Based in London, he is a partner with PwC UK. David leads PwC's Travel, Hospitality and Leisure practice in the UK, and is the global leader of the betting and gaming practice for PwC. He has over 20 years of experience in the Hotels & Leisure sector, working across a wide range of sectors and countries. Key Areas of experience include: pubs & restaurants, betting and gaming, travel and tourism, hotels, leisure, e.g. gyms, cinemas, bowling, theme parks and theatre.

Key areas of functional expertise include:

• Evaluating the impact that digital technology is having on industry structures and business models, and how hospitality businesses can harness digital to transform their performance;
• Assessing the impact of regulation on businesses, particularly in the betting and gaming sector, and the regulatory choices and trade-offs faced by governments and regulators;
• Growth strategy, especially as it relates to expansion into new geographies or markets.

David has authored numerous thought-piece articles, spoken at many conferences and been quoted in many leading newspapers and trade publications on industry issues.

David holds a MA in PPE from Oxford University.
