Research Student

This is what you will do

Want to get started doing research to show your expertise while getting to know the leading strategy consulting firm Strategy&? Then grab this opportunity! Over a 3-to-6-month period, you will work on writing thought leadership under the supervision of a Director and/or Partner from Strategy& in a topic area aligned to your interests. You will use your skills to work through all stages of a thought leadership paper which will demonstrate that you and the firm are experts and authority in your specific field. You will have responsibility for parts of the work in consultation with the Partner or Director as a further extension to provide back-up to the thought leadership at hand.

Student responsibilities

Write thought leadership which includes:

• Performing research about topics which are top of mind for society and our client
• Performing analyses to drive thought leadership generation through a fact-driven exercise
• Work side-by-side with practical strategists which are leaders in Strategy& to get insights firsthand and accelerate your learning path
• Be in an engaging environment seeing, working, and building relationships within the Strategy& Amsterdam office
• Writing an article in a professional manner and subsequently turn it into a publication / blogpost for roadshow

Associates

This is what you will do

As an Associate, you will perform a wide variety of tasks. You work with leading firms to overcome their largest unstructured problems working directly with key client executives. Do you want to accelerate the energy transition, build trust in society, help strengthen our financial institutions, or be at the forefront of more affordable care? Some of the challenges we work with on a day-to-day basis where you will be the analyst driving the problem solving, deriving syntheses and subsequently discussing these with key client executives. Senior Associates

This is what you will do

Senior Associates work with clients through all stages of consulting projects: identifying the major issues that the client is facing, generating hypotheses against those issues, structuring and performing analyses, identifying creative but pragmatic options against the identified issues, developing conclusions, making strategic recommendations, and then developing plans to operationalize the agreed strategy. As a Senior Associate you are end to end responsible for a work stream within the project, working within the Strategy& team and with client team members. You will work across a variety of industries and often at the client site. Travel can be a part of the job.

As a Senior Associate, you have a blend of the following talents and skills

• A high level of general intelligence and academic achievement;
• Real thought leadership, business judgment and curiosity, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills (which includes both a quantitative and a qualitative orientation);
• Personal leadership qualities, including the ability to lead others, drive change, and accomplish challenging goals through and with others;
• The ability to work independently and take ownership, while simultaneously being able to forge productive team and client relationships and support more junior team members
